SecureDeal™ · Deal with confidence.

How SecureDeal works

You have agreed a deal with another collector. Instead of sending first and hoping, the cards come to Rippex. We check every card against what was declared, with photos you both see, and nothing is sent on until the deal's conditions are met. Money is paid directly between the two of you. We hold the cards. Never the cash.

Sec. 01 · Who it is for

Good for

  • A trade or sale between two collectors.
  • Higher value cards.
  • Deals with someone you have not dealt with before.
  • Trades with money added on one side.

Not the right fit for

  • Holding or moving the money. We never do.
  • Deals not yet agreed between you.
  • Over £20,000 declared value. Email support@rippex.co.uk for a price.

Sec. 02 · Step by step

What you do. What we do.

  1. 01

    Book the deal

    You
One of you books: what each side sends, the declared value of each card, the other party's email.

In your hub: Waiting for agreement.

  2. 02

    The other party agrees

    Rippex
We email them an invitation. They confirm their address, accept the terms and agree.

In your hub: Agreed. Open for 14 days. Unagreed after that, the deal cancels and any fee is refunded.

  3. 03

    Pay the fee

    You
Collected when you agree. Buy/Sell: charged once, to the booker. Trade: each of you pays the same fee.
  4. 04

    Post your cards to Rippex

    You
At your cost, reference inside and on the parcel. Tracked and insured recommended. Your risk until we log them in.

In your hub: Waiting for the cards, with our address.

  5. 05

    We check every card

    Rippex
Against the description and declared value, with photos you both see. A card that does not match puts that side on hold.

In your hub: Checking the cards, then Cards checked.

  6. 06

    Money moves between you

    You
The payer pays the other party directly. The person owed confirms in their hub that it has arrived.

In your hub: Waiting for the payment to be confirmed. Confirm receipt under Needs you.

  7. 07

    Choose shipping

    You
Pick a service, add insurance if you want it, pay at cost.
    Rippex
We weigh your parcel and show you the services and prices.

In your hub: Choose shipping, then Ready to send.

  8. 08

    Sent on

    Rippex
Once both sides are checked, money is confirmed and fees are paid, each parcel goes tracked.

In your hub: On its way, then Complete.

At cost, your choice

Buy/Sell: read from the value of the cards being sent, charged once to whoever booked. Trade: read from both sides' cards together, and each party pays that fee. Money added to a trade does not change it. Sending cards to us is each sender's cost.

Sec. 04 · Why Rippex

Why it works.

Nobody sends first and hopes

Both sides' cards come to a neutral third party.

Checked against what was declared

Every card, photographed. You both see the same photos.

We hold the cards. Never the cash.

Money moves directly between you.

A fixed fee, not a cut

From a published ladder.

You both see every step

Agreement, checks, payment confirmation, tracking.

A mismatch stops everything

That side goes on hold until you both decide.

Sec. 05 · Questions

Questions.

Buy/Sell or Trade?

Buy/Sell moves cards one way for money. Trade moves cards both ways, with or without money added.

Who pays the fee?

Buy/Sell: the booker, once. Trade: each party pays the same fee. Splitting it between you is your own arrangement.

How is the fee worked out?

A fixed amount from a published ladder based on declared value. Over £20,000 is priced by hand.

Does Rippex hold the money?

Never. It is paid directly between you. The person owed confirms in their hub before cards move.

What is declared value?

The value each side states for their own cards at booking. It sets the fee, the checks, any customs declaration and the sum insured if you add insurance.

How long does the other party have to agree?

14 days. After that the deal cancels itself and any fee is refunded.

What if a card does not match?

That whole side goes on hold. We tell you both and propose options: return, adjust or cancel. You decide.

What if the other party never sends?

Your cards come back. Return postage comes out of their fee. Yours is refunded in full.

Who chooses the shipping?

Whoever is receiving a parcel from us, from real prices once it is weighed, paid at cost before dispatch.

Do I need insurance?

Your choice. Without it you are covered only to the service's own limit. Once a parcel leaves us, transit risk sits with the carrier and any insurance you chose.

Can I cancel?

Before both have agreed, free, with any fee refunded. After that we may deduct the cost of work already done, never more than it cost us.

Does the other party need an account?

They sign in to the hub with their email and a code. No password.

What if a payment I confirmed later bounces?

That is between the two parties. Only confirm once the money is in your account.

Sec. 06 · If something goes wrong

What happens.

The other party does not agree in time

The deal cancels after 14 days. Any fee is refunded.

A card does not match

That side goes on hold. You both choose what happens next.

The other side never sends

Your cards come back. Their fee covers the postage. Yours is refunded.

The invitation never arrived

Ask us to resend it from the deal in your hub.
